Slow cooked gammon stew

Nothing better than a slow cooked stew on a snowy Sunday...

Ingredients: 2 onions, 10 garlic cloves, 1 kg gammon, 15 potatoes, 1 jar tomato sauce, pepper, 2 bay leaves, 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp thyme.

Chop the onions. Put them in a pan with 2 tbsp of oil.

Peel the garlic and crush the cloves with the knife.

Add them to the pan and put on low heat. Stir well.

Cut the gammon into cubes.

Do not forget about the onions, continue stirring until they are soft.

Time to add the gammon.

And then some more gammon....

Stir well and let it cook on a medium heat, until you cut the potatoes into cubes.

Start adding the potatoes to the pot.

Add the mix of spices. I have not used any salt, because the gammon i had was very salty.

Mix everything well.

Add the tomato sauce.

Add enough water to cover everything and the bay leaves.

Put the lid on, and cook for 2 hours on a very low heat, stirring in occasionally.
